1. Respect others. This is key; everything else comes from this. If someone has a problem with how you are acting, please stop.
2. Due to the publicness of the boards, we ask that you keep all conversations on a PG-13 level or below. Exceptions will be allowed on a case-by-case basis due to the nature of anime fandom. If you have doubts, ASK. One hint: if it has to (or should) be hidden behind an adult verification system (AVS), then it's not allowed here.
3. Off-topicness: occasionally topics will drift off. That's not so bad. What IS bad is when someone really hijacks a thread to leave it in a completely different direction. Don't do it. If you want to say something new, start a new topic.
4. One word responses for the sake of post counts are not allowed. One word responses for responding to a question are perfectly fine.
5. If a topic seems like it's becoming a back and forth between two people... take it to AIM or PM or ICQ or YIM or any one of several other chat progra. No reason to clutter the boards with conversations between two people. Also, general life vents should be kept in a LiveJournal or something like that.
6. Do not link to any site that is offering illegal downloads of any anime, manga, video game, anime music, or similar that has been licensed by a U.S. company. If you have any doubt of legality, then do not link to it.
7. All external links are subject to the approval of the admins. Links to known spam sites or potentially harmful sites will be deleted. Spam sites include: Online Petitions, Search Engines, Adult Sites, Pharmaceutical Sites, and other similar sites. If you have any question about a validity of a link, please ask an admin before posting.
8. At any time, if an Admin thinks that a topic has a chance of starting a war, it will be immediately locked.

Penalties (which we don't want to have to use) will be as follows:

1. Public warning in the thread.
2. Private warning over PM.
3. Banning of some kind.

Although the punishments above will be followed, we will use discretion when necessary. In other words, don't be surprised that if you do something really horrible as a first offense, we'll go straight to the ban rather than just warnings.

Signatures

My sig sets the standard. No questions asked. No more than 1meg total per user in animated gifs...

1. no drugs, cigarettes, liquor or what not.
2. no self mutilation, or overly violent pic's or slogans of that nature.

These will be upheld to keep current and future members from being exposed to potentially violent and offensive themes, the administration reserves the right to deem any sig as vioating these rules. Complaints can be pm'd to me personally, don't post them here.

1. The purpose in creating a new topic is to discuss some idea, or post something interesting to see. Going off-topic is frowned on because you can simply PRESS ONE BUTTON, AND CREATE YOUR OWN TOPIC ON THE MATTER. However. So much off-topicness goes on around here that I don't think it can be helped. So if the topic happens to stray from the original (this is to you Sniper) I propose we let it stay. The purpose of a forum is for discussion after all (and hopefully, intellectual stimulation), and if you cut off a topic when it's in the middle of a heated discussion, then the flow will be lost. Example: the religion topic. I propose we lock topics only after it's become apparent that an (off-topic) debate is no longer going on. HOWEVER. This is not encouragement to go off-topic. Don't be stupid and go off-topic on purpose to be silly or defiant. If I find this has happened I will either move your post, request that you move it elsewhere, or lock the thread.

2. The editing/deleting of posts. I don't believe posts should EVER be deleted (you can easily move it to the right forum instead), and edited ONLY WHEN NECESSARY. Just add an update to your post, and leave the original. Why is this? Because this is the internet, where it is extremely easy to rewrite history, or put your words in someone else's mouth (editing someone else's post is the equivalent to speaking for someone else). You can easily pretend to be someone else, lie, or act outside of your character. If we frown upon it offline, we should do the same online, EVEN MORE SO. Don't be a retarded flamer, USE NET ETIQUETTE!

3. Behaving accordingly online. Yes, this is a forum, and there are places for you to joke and fool around. But when matters are APPARENTLY getting serious, and people's feelings are jeopardized or they feel offended, SHUT THE ~censored~ UP, AND THINK BEFORE YOU SAY SOMETHING. This is common sense. A debate is a debate, and an argument can go on without name calling and heavy swearing. WE ARE NOT CHILDREN ANYMORE! If you disagree with something, just say why. There's no need to be rude in a group of friends.

4. Stop making long ass signatures. When you have to scroll across AND down to read the posts, it gets annoying REALLY fast.

It disturbs me to see everyone yelling at each other. There needs to be some order around here.

SPAM

Spam is considered few letter replies to a topic, anything off topic to the title of the thread, bad links, bad topic locks, FIGHTING (to an extent). If you're going to fight, it better be somewhat intelligent and have something to do with the topic.

Supremecy. There is a chain of command. Administrators have the ultimate authority of Mods, so if an admin unlocks a topic or locks it, a mod cannot go back and modify that without first talking to the person that did the action. Whoever locks or unlocks a topic should make a post saying they did so, so that they may be pm'd if someone wants it changed. Any complains, pm them to me.

Changing other peoples posts is unethical. Any admin can now see if some mod or another admin is doing this, since this version of forum script has a working logger. If i see it going on, well, cya.

ON DOUBLE POSTING. Double posting is allowed to a certain extent; however, if you find you can wait a minute for someone else to post or instead edit your post, that would be much better.

If you have a problem with any of this, post your concerns here, I will be happy to address them. If someone can't handle this, post here also that you can't, I will be glad to delete your account.

This is law. These rules will be followed, no exceptions. This is an area for intelligent people, for we are the Iron Circle.

Amendment I:

Internet seems to be faster these days than since the last time these rules were updated, and we have a ton of bandwidth, so sigs are now allowed to 1MB.

Amendment II:

The new gaming center setup:

If at any time there are two or more people that request for a particular game to be added in one of the sections (console or pc), then an admin will create a new subforum for the new game. These general forums still work like a regular forum, you can post normally in them. Don't pm someone to make this new subforum, just make a note of it in a post in that sections forum.
